1920's: The Party Starters
At the culmination of the first world war in 1919, came a decade well documented in pop culture for its live life to fullest and grandest approach, ‘The Roaring Twenties’. After spending, many years embroiled in the hardships of ‘The Great War’. People needed an escape. They wanted to move forward and put the atrocities of war behind them. There was a cultural revolution and at its forefront was the art deco movement. Which is what we used as inspiration for our designs.
We wanted to create edgy, eye catching pieces and adding our own understated twist to it. This collection is fittingly characterized by sharp shapes, the use of black enamel to depict the widespread use of onyx in jewelry at the time. Our idea was to embody the carefree nature of the decade so that when you wear these pieces, you feel unattainable.
