1940’s: All Tied Up
With the World War 2 at it’s peak for most of the decade, metal jewellery was wide spread in the forms of ID bracelets and heart lockets, in which women used to keep pictures of their loved ones. Utility in clothing and jewellery was the prevailing trend. We took this use of metal as our inspiration with ribbons as our motif to create this collection. We wanted to add a softness to this collection which is depicted perfectly through the movement of the ribbon. Keeping the usage of stones to a minimum so that you feel soft, airy, ethereal once you put the jewellery on, taking you into a state of flow.
